Touring Eton

Hillary Thompson, professional guide, took many CAA members on a tour of Eton, the home of The Christopher Hotel. To give you an idea of the history of the area, William the Conqueror originally created the path that we were walking on.

The white building is from 1420. The Victorian era mail box features a vertical slot, versus the modern horizontal slot, so that you could not put your hand in and steal a letter (and any money the letter might have contained).
The group listens carefully as Hillary talks about the architecture of a building.
Detail work on a building column.
Named after a former headmaster at Eton.
The group greatly enjoyed our tour, which included some great tidbits about life in Eton.
