George the Fourth Wicker Phaeton

An exquisite carriage with full patent leather dash and wicker body. It comes with coupe’ bent shafts for the single horse. It is accented with a brass rein rail. The groom’s seat finishes this beautiful piece yet is also removable. My research shows that similar ones were built by A. T. Demarest, Van Tassel and Kearney and Brewster & Company all firms in New York City at the same time. The axles are stamped with F.F. Harrison by hand stamp and Newark N.J. machine stamped.
