BDS Drive and Cones

Sunday marks the close of the Royal Windsor Horse Show but before you are too sad, remember that Sunday is also a day packed with driving. We started the day off with the Champagne Laurent – Perrier Meet of the British Driving Society. The drive made all the news channels in England as Lady Louise, age 13, made her driving debute. It was also the first drive in many years that HRH Prince Philip didn’t lead, Lady Louisa had that honor using a vehicle driven at the very first Royal Windsor Horse Show.

In a different area, the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix was entering the last stage – cones.

Windsor Marathon Day

It doesn’t matter what CDE you attend marathon day always seems to have a little extra buzz to it…add in watching Boyd Exell and some of the best drivers in the world, suddenly the buzz is really exciting. Watching ponies and horses zig and zag their way through the marathon course at this years event was no exception.

A top horse pair, on course and moving fast.
Tight turns are common on this course.

Coaching, driven dressage and private driving

Another big day at Windsor for driving! Friday started off with driven dressage for horse pairs participating in the CDE and then switched to coaching. Late morning found us at watching the private driving (essentially a pleasure driving class). It has been several years since private driving has appeared at Windsor.
